True Diwali Celebration at the Hope House

Just a day before the Diwali day we had a guest at the Hope House and he truly brought light with him to convey the true meaning of Diwali. His name is Sumantha Ranjan Das.

Several times we had communicated via email and phones but never met before. He sponsors a little girl at the Hope House.

Just a couple of weeks ago, he asked about the needs of the girls (without mentioning the budget) that he would like to support to celebrate Diwali. So I promptly asked the girls and the house mother to come up with the needs list. Most of the girls had asked for a school bag and some asked for clothes.

He is not from Vellore nor was he visiting Vellore and made a quick visit to us but he took a taxi and came all the way from Bangalore (which is about four hours away) along with his young daughter Aanya, to deliver the gifts. Gifts were carefully packed with hand decorated (by his wife) lamps and greetings tied to the gifts. His daughter hand delivered gifts to each and every girl as her father helped her.

He brought gifts to our lady staff and ton of sweets, and soft toys. Girls couldn't get enough of the gifts that they had received. We talked about the true meaning of Diwali and how they too can touch someone's life with light. THANK YOU SUMANTHA AND AANYA.
